Injured Workers

If you are an injured worker of a private self-insured entity in California, your workers benefits will continue through the Security Fund in the event your employer is insolvent. Choose your previous employeer from the pull down menu below to find the contact info for your agent.

Assistance Provided By The Fund

The majority of the workers compensation injuries or illnesses turned over to the Fund after a self-insured goes into default are mature indemnity claims arising from a wide range of occupations. Many of the workers compensation claims have standing WCAB awards that provide lifetime medical and/or disability benefits. In fact, some of the California estate injured workers, now handled by the Fund, have suffered workers compensation injuries or illnesses as far back as the 1940’s, including ship builders and longshore workers.

If you are an injured worker of a private self-insured entity in California, your workers compensation benefits will continue through the Security Fund in the event your employer becomes insolvent – usually due to bankruptcy. Your health and welfare is of great importance to us, and we will do all we can to make sure you receive proper medical care and benefits. We have fulfilled this obligation for thousands of injured workers – without interruption of benefits – since our creation in 1984.
